MVP scoffs at people coming at him on social media for his prison days

WWE superstar MVP is on the rise recently. Montel Vontavious Porter, whose real name is Hassan Hamin Assad, made a return to WWE a few years ago.

He made sporadic appearances since 2018 but his role was elevated on the show when he became the manager of ‘The Hurt Business’, which is an incredibly successful stable now.

Bobby Lashley, as a part of THB, has become the WWE champion, and Drew McIntyre even vouched for MVP to become a good manager for Khabib Nurmagomedov if he ever wanted to come to WWE.

But his life was not always this rosy. He was part of a cruise ship robbery during his teenage years which saw him sentenced to 18 and a half years in prison.

He served 9 and a half years of it; a sentence that he began serving in the prison when he was just 16.

It was a corrections officer, who was also a wrestler, that gave MVP the idea to become a pro wrestler.

And MVP is rightly proud of what he has achieved since then. He took to his Twitter account to have a go at people who seem to still judge on his past days.

He states that none of that hurts his feelings because he is over the phase, and that he is proud of himself because he is an inspiration to many others.

The former United States champion went on to say in the following tweet that there are people who are jealous of him because he has achieved a lot despite being a convicted felon.

The 47-year-old is one of the main stars on the show now and the decision to get him back on the WWE screen has proven to be a hit.
