Natalya is a third-generation wrestler and the daughter of Hall of Famer Jim Neidhart. She has been with WWE for a long time and is one of the stalwarts of the company.
Natalya wrestles on the SmackDown brand currently and teams with Shayna Baszler. The team competed in a Fatal-4-way match at WrestleMania 38 for the Women’s Tag Team Championships but failed to win the gold.
They have their eyes on the Titles though as last week, the two veterans were seen watching one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks in action against Liv Morgan from backstage.
The Queen of Harts shocked the WWE Universe when she appeared on NXT 2.0 this week. Recently, we saw Dolph Ziggler making his way to WWE’s developmental brand and winning the NXT Championship from Bron Breakker. Ziggler, however, lost the Title to Breakker at the RAW after WrestleMania. During that time, there were reports emerging where it was mentioned that wrestlers from WWE’s main roster would be seen every now and then on NXT and have a feud with a young upstart on the brand. Similarly, the NXT superstars would also be seen on RAW and SmackDown. As per the reports, this would be done to have the viewers engaged in all the shows.
The 21-year-old Cora Jade was delivering a promo in the ring on this week’s episode of NXT 2.0. She was talking about her heroes Sasha Banks, Paige, AJ Lee, Natalya, and more. Jade also mentioned how she intends on becoming a WWE Champion someday. Her promo was interrupted by the B.O.A.T. Natalya.
As Natalya was making her way to the ring, Jade appeared to be awe-struck at seeing her idol in front of her. Natalya also seemed overwhelmed as she smiled at the crowd at the Performance Center and soaked in their chants of “welcome back.”
Natalya quickly switched to her heel mode and said that Jade is the future of WWE but the future looks bleak. She went on to lock in the Sharpshooter on Jade as the NXT star tapped out immediately. Natalya took a long while before relenting.
Backstage, Tatum Paxley tried to have a conversation with Natalya but the legend said she is putting the entire NXT women’s division on notice. Next week, Natalya will face Tatum Paxley on NXT.
Natalya posted an emotional tweet after her return to NXT. She wrote:
“Always an honor to be at @WWENXT. Something I’ve never taken lightly. Some of the greatest moments in my career were there. Some of the greatest moments of my career haven’t happened yet. AND being underestimated is the greatest secret weapon one can have. The future is bright.”
