WWE names new Interim CEO as Vince McMahon steps down as WWE CEO. Stephanie McMahon breaks the silence over it.
WWE has publicly published a press release this morning revealing that Vince McMahon will be stepping down as the WWE CEO and Chairman.
Vince has decided voluntarily as he will still be retaining his role in WWE’s creative department during this period. Stephanie McMahon will be taking over as an interim CEO and Chairwoman.
This was taken in the wake of the Wall Street Journal’s report that the board of World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. is investigating a $3 million settlement paid to a former employee by WWE Chairman Vince McMahon with whom he allegedly had an affair.
On top of that allegation, other non-disclosure agreements by former employees were also found in the investigation and claims of misconduct against McMahon and Head Of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis.
Vince’s daughter Stephanie McMahon, who was on leave as announced earlier by her, will have to return and take up her role as an interim Chairwoman.
After being named as the interim CEO and Chairwoman of WWE, Stephanie McMahon took to Twitter and reacted after the announcement.
“Until the conclusion of the investigation into recent allegations, I am honoured to assume the role of interim Chairwoman & CEO. I love @WWE and all it continues to do to entertain billions around the world.”
When the press release came out, a message was simultaneously sent to all WWE staff,
“I will be returning from my leave of absence and assuming the role of interim Chairwoman and CEO.” “I love our company and am excited to continue to work with our President & Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan and our Chief Financial & Administrative Officer Frank Riddick. “And, of course, I look forward to working with all of you. My door is always open.
Stephanie has had an impressive run so far in WWE, and it will be interesting to see how she does this time.
