Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax make their thoughts known after best WWE tag team snub
Ever since the rebirth of the WWE women’s tag team title more than 2 years back, there have been a lot of iconic champions.
Sasha Banks, Bayley, Asuka, and Charlotte Flair have all gotten their hands on the prized belt. But no one has been more dominant than Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler.
The two won the belt for the first time at Payback in August 2020 against Bayley and Banks. They held on to it for 112 days before it was ended at TLC 2020 against Charlotte and Asuka.
Jax and Baszler reclaimed the belt at Royal Rumble the following month, and have since not lost it, taking their combined days with the title to over 217- a record for the current belt.
It could have been a single, long reign if WWE wasn’t so desperate to hand Flair another belt for no apparent reason. Nevertheless, WWE Universe knows Jax and Baszler run the women’s tag team division.
This is why the champions were shocked to see their name left out of the debate for the best WWE tag team right now.
@btsportwwe posted a photo on Twitter with 11 tag teams, with Jax and Baszler not on it. This included just two women’s tag team- The Way & Natalya and Tamina.
Understandably angry, both Jax and Baszler took to their respective Twitter accounts and reminded fans that they were the longest reigning champions in the women’s tag team division.
Technically speaking, the longest women’s tag team champions in the history of the company are The Glamour Girls (Judy Martin and Leilani Kai), with two reigns lasting for a combined 1157 days during the 1980s.
But Jax and Baszler hold the record for the newly-incorporated belt that only came into existence in February 2019, when The Boss ‘n’ Hug connection won it.
