Nikki Cross made her much-awaited return to RAW this week against Rhea Ripley to set up a Hell in a Cell title match
Well, technically, Nikki Cross made her RAW return last week when she was one of the lumberjacks (or lumber Jill) in a match between Damian Priest and John Morrison.
She had a role to play in that match as she prevented Morrison from running out of the ring and threw him back inside. But this week, she finally saw some in-ring action.
The Scotswoman faced former WWE NXT colleague, Rhea Ripley, in a beat-the-clock match. Charlotte Flair helped set up the match which would have consequences for the Hell in a Cell PPV next month.
Cross put on a decent showing, even coming close to winning via pinfall as she survived the two minutes against the Australian.
While Flair beating Asuka on the night as well, a Hell in a Cell date for the RAW women’s title was then set up between ‘The Nightmare’ and ‘The Queen.
The WWE social media account shared a snippet of Nikki Cross making her return on the Red brand, with Charlotte Flair and Ripley also in the frame.
Chirpy and bubbly as ever, Cross quoted the tweet and shared how it felt to be back in full capacity on the show after close to 4 months out of action.
The 12-time women’s champion, Flair, has been giving an instant push for the title ever since her return after WrestleMania 37 as a heel. And it was nothing that the fans didn’t expect from WWE.
‘The Opportunity’ now has an opportunity herself to snatch the belt off Ripley’s waist at the Hell in a Cell PPV on June 20th.
As for Cross, it was a smooth re-introduction for her on the main roster and fans should hope to see her in action more often now. It is still unclear who she builds a storyline with, though.
