It was a battle of the former Sanity members as Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe collided on NXT
This week’s episode of WWE NXT had a really good tag team match lined up between Killian Dain and Drake Maverick and Imperium- Marcel Barthel and Alexander Wolfe.
Maverick went into this fight doubting Dain and was worried that he might betray him. But the course of the match showed that it was the opposite.
Dain did everything he could to protect his partner from the heels and it was some great storytelling coupled by good acting that went beyond just wrestling.
But one little detail that had everyone talking about this match even hours after Imperium’s win was a moment between Wolfe and Dain.
Barthel ordered Wolfe to smack a fallen Dain with a chair, but he did not. The two of them, of course, were member of ‘Sanity’, an NXT stable from years back.
Nikki Cross taps into Sanity memories after her reaction to Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain
The stable started out in October 2016 and went for a good two and a half years with Dain, Wolfe, Nikki Cross, and Eric Young as their members.
And Cross was on Twitter to react to this moment between the two former Sanity members as she said she was glad that Wolfe didn’t hit her husband, Dain, with the chair.
She mentioned her dilemma of having to choose between either sides because of her split allegiance.
Sanity, of course, was disbanded in April 2019 after leader Eric Young was drafted to RAW as a part of the Superstar Shake-up. But they had a great time together and WWE fans won’t be forgetting about them in a hurry.
This was a great match and despite the heels winning, the story of it all and the performances by everyone involved made it a great tag team encounter.
This should definitely be one area that NXT should explore and fans would definitely love more matches between the two teams.
