Tamina says Charlotte Flair is the female Roman Reigns in WWE
Tamina Snuka and Roman Reigns are, by some way or the other, descendants of the famed Anoa’i wrestling family.
Reigns has taken the mantle from his cousin, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson as the face of the promotion and is really head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to his popularity.
The WWE Universal title holder is a staple inclusion in the main events of almost all the big PPVs the promotion has to offer throughout the calendar year.
And he is the central figure, the most prominent face on all WWE posters. But who has a similar impact on the promotion in the women’s division?
According to Tamina, who is also Reigns’ cousin, the answer is Charlotte Flair. That is if you’re not considering Polynesian lineage as one of the criteria.
She relayed this view during an interview she gave to Vicente Beltran on YouTube (h/t Fightful) and explicitly mentioned that Nia Jax, who is also a part of the vast Anoa’i family, was not the answer to that question at all.
“If you want to go for the Polynesian side of it, I would have to say I am the Roman Reigns of [the female division], it’s not Nia, that’s for sure. Outside of our Polynesian culture…the Roman Reigns of the women’s locker room for both Raw and SmackDown, I would say probably Charlotte. She’s back and is coming back for something. She wants to prove who she is. She came out and put everybody on the spot and addressed all the locker room. I would have to say Charlotte.”
Jax’s unnecessary mention in her answer is probably just a tactic to hype up her ongoing social media feud with ‘The Irresistible Force’.
The two were, of course, once partners on RAW. But it could be likely that Jax and Tamina again go head-to-head soon inside the ring.
But for now, Jax has a few other storylines to take care of. She has the tag team title with Shayna Baszler that consistently keeps coming under threat, while also having to decide if she wants Reginald or Angel Garza by her side.
