Carmelo Hayes defended his NXT North American Championship against Pete Dunne this week in the main event of NXT 2.0

Pete Dunne challenged Carmelo Hayes for a title match last week, which the latter accepted, immediately. The match started with both superstars using their quickness but most of the times, both superstars were having the same ideas. ‘The Bruiserweight’ Pete Dunne and the ‘A Champion’ Carmelo Hayes, both have a commendable physique and deliver fast-paced action in their matches.

Pete Dunne locked in the Angle lock but Hayes countered. Hayes would lock in the cross face but this time Dunne would be the one to counter. Towards the end of the match, Hayes would be perched on the top rope, while Pete Dunne followed him and was about to finish the match. Trick Williams came to the aid of Hayes though. He got himself involved and did enough to distract Pete.

He got his fingers manipulated in the process thanks to vintage Pete Dunne. The distraction though, allowed Hayes to get some much-needed breather. He would drop Dunne from the ropes. He followed it up with a picture-perfect trademark leg drop from the top rope to retain the gold.

Carmelo Hayes has been in the news for his facial appearance as well
