NXT Stand & Deliver will take place on April 2 before night 1 of WrestleMania 38, as part of the WrestleMania weekend. The event will be held at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
NXT North American Championship Ladder Match– Carmelo Hayes (c) vs Solo Sikoa vs Cameron Grimes vs Grayson Waller vs Santos Escobar
All four competitors except the champion Carmelo Hayes had to go through qualifying matches to get to this stage. Grimes hadn’t managed to get into the match right away as he had to win the last chance to qualify match this week on NXT to punch his ticket to the big event.
Grimes has had the backing of the fans and it won’t be a surprise to see him win the title. He has also received a push over the past few weeks after failing to win the title from Hayes at the Vengeance Day special episode last month.
Prediction – Win for Cameron Grimes
Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne) versus Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez
Raquel Gonzalez made her return this week on NXT. She saved Dakota Kai who was taking a beatdown at the hands of Toxic Attraction. The winners of the inaugural Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and former NXT Women’s Tag Team champions embraced after taking out Mandy Rose and company. They picked up the tag titles which Dolin and Jayne forgot to take with them. Kai and Gonzalez celebrated with the titles as the match at NXT Stand & Deliver were confirmed soon after.
While Kai and Gonzalez might win back the titles in the future, Toxic Attraction seems the safer bet to continue with their reign.
Prediction – Win for Toxic Attraction
NXT Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match: Imperium (c) vs. The Creed Brothers vs. MSK
It’s going to be interesting to see if the mystery attackers appear or reveal themselves during the match or after it ends. Going with The Creed Brothers in this one.
After they win the titles, they could be attacked by the mystery attackers to set up a title challenge for the near future.
Prediction – Win for The Creed Brothers
Tommaso Ciampa vs. Tony D’Angelo
This will be the Blackheart’s last match on WWE’s developmental brand. He is most likely moving on to the main roster. When Ciampa announced a heartfelt promo a couple of weeks ago, he was attacked by Tony D’Angelo.
Ciampa took out Angelo last week on NXT and this week both men had exceptional promos to build up their match. Tony D’Angelo wants to beat Ciampa and become “The Don of NXT” and we are predicting him to defeat Ciampa in this match. The reason is that Ciampa has been such a stalwart of NXT over the past several years. Now that he is leaving, it would be like a passing of the torch to a talented superstar who has the potential to carry on the legacy that Ciampa has built on the brand.
Prediction – Win for Tony D’Angelo
LA Knight vs Gunther
This is Knight’s second stint in WWE. During his first reign, he wrestled a few dark matches and then he wrestled a few matches on the black and gold version of NXT before being released in 2014.
He is 39 now and fans have been demanding WWE to put him on the main roster. For Gunther, he is a powerhouse and is heading into NXT Stand & Deliver with a lot of momentum. The 34-year-old ended Solo Sikoa’s undefeated streak earlier this month. This is a very tough one to predict but we are going in with Gunther.
Prediction – Win for Gunther
NXT Women’s Championship Fatal 4-Way: Mandy Rose (c) vs. Cora Jade vs. Io Shirai vs. Kay Lee Ray
Io Shirai and Kay Lee Ray won the 2022 Women’s Dusty Cup and instead of challenging for the tag team titles, they wanted a shot at Mandy’s NXT Women’s Championship. So this match turned into a fatal-4 way.
This has the potential of becoming a spectacular bout. All four women are extremely talented and they will have their moments. However, we expect Rose to steal the victory from someone else in the match like most heels win in matches comprising multiple competitors.
Prediction – Win for Mandy Rose
NXT Championship: Dolph Ziggler (c) vs Bron Breakker
Dolph Ziggler shocked the WWE Universe when he won the NXT Championship in a triple-threat match against the former champion Breakker and Ciampa during the NXT Roadblock show.
Since then, the feud has been building up tantalizingly between Ziggler and Breakker. Ziggler’s ally Robert Roode has also been involved in the feud and he produced a fine match against Breakker last week on NXT.
We expect Ziggler to drop the title in this match. Breakker has been one of the most impressive stars on NXT. His incredible combination of strength and athleticism has been praised by many. WWE wouldn’t want to keep the title off him for long. Also, after rubbing shoulders with a decorated superstar of the main roster like Ziggler, Breakker will have learned a lot for sure.
Prediction – Win for Bron Breakker
