Paul Heyman claims The Rock wants WrestleMania match versus Roman Reigns
In an exclusive interview with GIVEMESPORT, Paul Heyman has confirmed that The Rock is seeking a WrestleMania match with current WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Since turning heel at SummerSlam last year, ‘The Head of the Table’ is reigning supreme on SmackDown, doing some of the best character work as well as in-ring work of his entire career in WWE.
And, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that a host of WWE Superstars, present and former, are wanting a piece of Reigns. The ‘Tribal Chief’ is set to battle one Hall of Famer already at WrestleMania 37, when he defends the title against Edge.
Now, it seems like, The Rock wants a bite at the apple in the near future.
Heyman, Reigns’ Special Counsel, confirmed during his interview that The Rock had indeed been in contact to set up a WrestleMania bout with the Universal Champion.
Heyman added that ‘The Great One’ wasn’t the only celebrity lining up for a match with Reigns, but there were many others who sought the fame of headlining WrestleMania with ‘The Head of the Table’.
“If I could show you one day’s worth of text messages, emails and calls that come into my phone from some of the biggest superstars in sports and entertainment on this planet, it would blow your mind.
“Crossover celebrities in their prime would love to step into a WrestleMania ring with Roman Reigns. It’s not just Dwayne Johnson. The Rock is just one of many.”
While it does come off as Heyman bigging up his client, the WWE Universe would go crazy over a potential face-off between Reigns and The Rock.
Given how Reigns’ current storyline has been dominated around his familial roots and how he is the ‘Tribal Chief’, the story would write itself – The Past vs The Present, The People’s Champion vs The Head of the Table.
