Asuka had a role to play in the main event between Io Shirai and Sasha Banks at the Great American Bash
WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Sasha Banks faced off against Io Shirai in the main event at the Great American Bash Day One.
This was a non-title match as Shirai is the NXT champion, but Banks had the chance to make a statement.
The Boss has been looking to add more gold around her waist and faces Asuka for the Raw Women’s Title. However, she had the chance to put everyone on notice by defeating Shirai, who only recently won the clash.
Banks also had Bayley by her side to help in the clash. Her best friend and tag champion tried to get involved later on in the clash as she distracted the referee while Shirai tried to get the win.
The referee took one of the belts from Bayley and moved to the other side of the ring. Banks tried to take advantage but Asuka sprayed her rival with the green mist.
The Boss was blinded by the attack and that allowed Shirai to pick up the win.

Tajiri was one of the stars that used the green mist to his advantage several times in his career, and it seems Asuka is doing the same too.
This was a statement from the Japanese star that she isn’t taking Banks lightly. However, the Boss was enraged at what had happened on the Great American Bash.
She posted a couple of pictures from the event, and one saw her face with a tinge of green. This was due to the mist attack by Asuka, however, Banks also had a word of warning to the Raw Women’s Champion:
“You’re welcome @shirai_io but this isn’t over. @WWEAsuka it’s only just begun. #LetGetExtreme #2BeltzBanks #Sasha3Shows”
Banks and Asuka meet at Extreme Rules for the title, and their rivalry should reach another level after the events from this night.
