WWE NXT UK star Piper Niven responds to body criticism after WWE Raw debut
The Scottish Superstar made her debut on WWE Raw with Eva Marie to face ‘The Glow’ Naomi. Niven dominated the entire match and finished it off with a Michinoku driver.
A lot of fans took to Twitter to criticize Niven’s debut including a few ‘body shaming’ comments. WWE Superstars like Charlotte Flair and Nash Carter hit out at fans for the criticism and praised Niven for her work.
Niven herself responded on Twitter to the mockery of some fans saying:
“Successful big people are often met with this because we remind people of their own shortcomings, they want to believe that success is only for the “perfect people” and that’s why they didn’t achieve their dreams and we prove them wrong. Don’t even worry about them, I don’t.”
Niven has been one of the unique stars on NXT UK. She has already faced off with current WWE Raw Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley on the developmental brand. It will be fascinating to see how the WWE creative team uses the Marie-Niven angle. There are reports of Niven possibly getting a new name after her WWE Raw debut.
Niven began at a very early age of 18 with Scottish Wrestling Alliance. Her resume also includes wrestling in Japan and Scotland. She is a 2-time ICW Champion and joins Drew McIntyre and Nikki Cross as another Scottish wrestler in WWE.
Niven entered WWE in the Mae Young’s Classic 2017, before making her NXT debut in 2019. She is one of the most talented wrestlers on the roster. Her agility and speed takes most opponents by surprise.
Niven will profit as a heel with Eva Marie on Raw. The impressive debut also means that the pair will continue working together for the next few weeks beginning a unique storyline.
