Matt Riddle vs Bobby Lashley rematch might be a possibility
WWE superstar Matt Riddle is still not over his win against Bobby Lashley last week. Earlier this month, the two met on RAW in a non-title match where Riddle won via pinfall.
Lashley had complete control over that match. He hit Riddle with the Dominator to lay him flat, and followed it up with the Hurt Lock.
Riddle tapped but the referee missed it. The fight went on, and the 34-year-old pinned Lashley to secure a major upset.
Earlier on Sunday, Riddle posted a tweet of him catching air on his quad bike to celebrate his win over Lashley. He also asked the current United States champion to give him a title shot.
Riddle vs Bobby Lashley has Randy Orton excited
This irked Lashley, who quoted the tweet to reply that he wishes to hand him a beating. However, he says that it wouldn’t be for the title as Riddle hasn’t earned that opportunity yet.
Lashley tagged MVP in his reply, who replied to the tweet by saying that he will make some calls to make the match happen.
The tweet caught the attention of Randy Orton who had a blunt reply to it (no pun intended). The Viper said “Puff off. Can I watch?” in his tweet, which left the fans laughing in the reply section.
Orton is known to take jabs at others in the locker room and this could be on on Riddle.
The former UFC star is known to smoke up and that was one reason why he fell into the bad books of the UFC and Dana White. Riddle is one of the rising stars in WWE and does act like he is high all of the time on the shows.
If Lashley and Riddle do face each other for the title, which it looks like they would, then it could be a really good feud. Riddle is yet to win a singles title in WWE and this could be a very good opportunity for him to break the duck.
The match, however, is not yet official and can take place on Royal Rumble for the title; that is, if the stars align for Riddle.
