Randy Orton recently completed his 20-year anniversary in WWE. He has been one of the finest to have stepped foot inside the squared circle.
The Viper has mostly portrayed a heel character but when he turned face, he instantly became one of the most cheered wrestlers on the roster of his time. The 14-time world champion has achieved some incredible things inside the WWE ring and fans acknowledge his passion and commitment to the business.
However, Orton was ruled out of action after enduring a vicious attack from The Bloodline, a few weeks ago on SmackDown. The Apex Predator has been nursing a back injury for a long time reports Fightful Select. The nature and extent of the injury are still unknown but the report states that it has gotten worse with time and their sources fear that the veteran wrestler might need to get under the knife.
A surgery will mean that Orton will most likely remain out of action for the remaining part of the year. If this turns out to be true, then it’s certainly very bad news for the pro wrestling fraternity.
What was WWE’s plan for Randy Orton?
WWE had huge plans in line for Randy Orton before he got injured and was written off WWE television.
WWE was keen to have Randy Orton challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam later this year.
However, it seems that they will have to reshuffle things and find a new opponent for The Head of the Table. We hope to see Orton recover soon and come back in WWE.
