WWE’s apex predator Randy Orton teamed up with Riddle to take on the team of The Street Profits this week on RAW – might have suffered an injury
The match between RK-Bro and The Street Profits was a good one but the end wasn’t as good. Montez Ford hit his trademark frog splash on Randy Orton to take the pinfall. Montez executes the move with utter precision most of the time.
It’s a wonderful visual when he flies high from the top rope. This time though, Montez seemed to have miscalculated the leap. He fell on Orton’s front deltoid muscle with most of the weight falling on his right side.
The 14-time WWE World Champion Orton, favoured his right shoulder immediately after the frog splash was executed. He seemed to roll to the corner as he was still concerned about the match. He went searching for the ropes with his right leg when Ford had the cover on him but Angelo Dawkins prevented him from putting his leg on the bottom rope. The Street Profits got the win but Orton was seen grimacing in pain holding his right shoulder.
It hasn’t been confirmed by WWE as yet but a video from a fan present in the arena showed footage of Orton being escorted backstage by Riddle and the referee.
RK-Bro, Alpha Academy and Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens are scheduled to compete in a triple threat match next week on RAW. It is for the RAW Tag Team Championships.
Randy Orton’s injury isn’t confirmed as yet. If it isn’t too serious, we know the strong personality that Orton is, he will fight next week. The problem will happen if Orton’s injury is serious, and he will need time to recover. We hope it’s nothing to worry about as Orton is an absolute legend of the wrestling industry and has given us innumerable moments to cherish throughout his career.
If Orton is indeed ruled out of next week’s triple threat match, then Riddle won’t have a partner. It is unlikely that Riddle will be partnered with someone else.
Kevin Owens is rumoured to be facing Stone Cold at WrestleMania 38. So Owens and Rollins might not be winning the titles next week. The possibility of The Alpha Academy retaining seems most likely.
