Randy Orton might have picked up injury during Matt Riddle match on Raw

Randy Orton was in action against Matt Riddle on Raw and could have picked up an injury

WWE had advertised a major Braun Strowman vs Randy Orton match for Raw this week, but that was not to happen.

A twist was served with Matt Riddle stepping up to face the Viper, and it was a pretty good match. Orton and Riddle exchanged several blows and it was the Original Bro who picked up a shock win.

Orton also reacted to this and claimed he would beat up Riddle, but also lauded the former MMA star’s performance.

However, things might not be right for Orton after this clash. Bryan Alvarez claimed that Orton injured his right shoulder during the match and was even limited in his movement (h/t Wrestling News):

“I don’t know the extent of what happened, but Randy Orton hurt his shoulder. He was fighting out of the corner and Riddle went to give him an exploder and Randy of course didn’t take an exploder.

“He blocked it and he pulled back and did this very dramatic punch and he punched him and then from that point forward he could no longer use his right arm. He was throwing forearms with his left arm, which looked horrible.”

Orton might have tweeted a lot after the match and even brought up 4:20, but there is no confirmation of how severe the injury is from WWE or from Orton.

It also was a bit of a surprise why the match was switched up despite WWE advertising a first ever brawl with Strowman and Orton.

The Viper vs Riddle was still incredible, and it will be interesting to see when Orton comes back. Strowman, for his part, teamed up with Drew McIntyre and enjoyed a great tag clash.

They were up against T-Bar and Mace and the former Retribution members were unmasked in the end of it all.

Orton was also involved in a storyline with The Fiend prior to his clash with Riddle. WWE seemed to forget about all of that on this week’s Raw.
