Rhea Ripley reveals the emotional moment she shared with Edge at WrestleMania 37

For professional wrestlers, WrestleMania 37 is the culmination of their hard work, dreams, and aspirations. It means more to them; even more than the fans.

And this is why it just gets overwhelming at times, even for the best of the lost. Rhea Ripley, a 24-year-old newcomer to the main roster, was at the grandest stage of them all.

She took on Asuka for the WWE RAW women’s championship. And just minutes before stepping inside the ring, she revealed that it was all just getting too much for her.

The significance of the occasion and the returning fans had Ripley on the verge of crying, but she revealed in an interview with TV Insider (h/t WrestlingInc) that she was trying to hold it together.

‘The Nightmare’ then told what really let the tears flow. And it was seeing a long-time WWE superstar standing besides her.

Ripley mentioned that ‘The Rated R Superstar’, Edge, winked at her to give her his support before she made her way out on the ramp.

“All my dreams were coming true. It was something I worked toward for a long time. I was trying to hold it all together, telling myself, ‘Don’t cry.’ Then I looked over to Edge near me, and he had tears in his eyes. He nodded at me and winked. I just lost it. I could not hold it together.”

Edge is a superstar who is really connected with the fanbase more than most. He really values their contribution to the industry and he is an all-time fan-favourite for a reason.

And if you ask him about the aforementioned incident, he would probably himself admit that it was a toned-down version of what he himself experienced a couple of years ago.

The 2020 Royal Rumble saw Edge return after 9 years from a career-threatening neck injury and the look on his face told a story that words cannot describe.

He was at WrestleMania 37 in a triple-threat match for the WWE Universal title against Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan. He lost controversially, but the fans were just grateful seeing him back in action on the grandest stage of them all.
