WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie took to Twitter today to announce her decision to step down from her corporate role.
Stephanie McMahon posted on Twitter, that she would be taking a “leave of absence” from the majority of her roles in the company. She further mentioned that she would love to make her return to the company shortly. Her announcement came as a shock to not only the wrestling fans but also the wrestling world.
The 45-year-old confirmed that she would be temporarily stepping down from her role on Friday. She cited the reasons to be family reasons. Announcing her decision on Twitter, she quoted, “As of tomorrow, I am taking a leave of absence from the majority of my responsibilities at WWE. WWE is a lifelong legacy for me and I look forward to returning to the company that I love after taking this time to focus on my family.”
Although her statement was devastating for wrestling fans, it still was filled with some little drops of joy. She mentioned in her statement how she looks forward to returning. McMahon though cited her reasons as, focusing on her family, but she did not mention the details of it.
Many suspect that, the real reason behind this is Triple H. Stephanie McMahon is married to Triple H aka Paul Levesque. Triple H retired from wrestling earlier this year after he underwent heart surgery last year. Fans are suspecting the step down came as a result of taking care of her husband. Both Triple H and Stephanie were involved backstage. While Stephanie was the Chief Brand Officer, her husband works as the executive vice president for Global Talent Strategy & Development.
