Reginald names Ricochet as a huge influence since joining WWE
24/7 Champion Reginald has had a mesmerising last two weeks in his young WWE career. He successfully defended the title against R-Truth on Monday Night RAW this week.
Reginald was earlier seen with the women’s division and began as the sommelier of Carmella. Talking in an interview of The Bump, he discusses his rise in WWE and the wrestlers who helped him to settle. He says: (h/t Wrestling Inc)
“Oh, he’s motivation, and he’s a mentor; he’s everything to me (talking about Ricochet). He was one of the guys that I gravitated towards when I got here because before I got here, I looked up to him. He was the one doing all the cool and high-flying movements and whatnot. He’s been such a huge help, big mentor and definitely most vital to my career.”
Reginald initially began in an Intergender match against Sasha Banks on SmackDown. Since then, he moved to WWE RAW and teamed up with Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax.
This is the first singles run for Reginald who comes with a Cirque du Soleil background. This was evident as he escaped the ring acrobatically after his title defense this week.
Ricochet’s WWE career
Ricochet is undoubtedly one of the best high-flyers in WWE. After spending years on the indie scene, he debuted in NXT in 2018, capturing the WWE NXT North American Championship, and won the 2019 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
He also shocked the WWE Universe with his amazing moves which won him a United States Championship. His career is just getting better as we saw in the recently concluded Money in the Bank. The high-flyer boasts some of the best moves ever seen and is on a rampant streak in 2021.
