Renee Paquette reacts positively as Charlotte Flair set to star in Walking Tall movie

WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair is set to star in the remake of the 1973 film “Walking Tall.”

The news was broken by Deadline on Monday, claiming that David Eick will be making the film, with The Queen playing the lead. Most WWE fans will remember Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson starring in a remake of the movie back in 2004.

But, it is now set for another reboot with Charlotte Flair playing “a Tucson cop who finds herself caught in a web of fraud, exploitation and murder, and is forced to go full vigilante to protect her home town from falling victim to modern corruption.”

Renee Paquette – formerly WWE’s Renee Young – couldn’t hide her excitement after the news broke out. Taking to Twitter, the ex-WWE presenter reacted to Charlotte’s post confirming the announcement with a GIF.

Paquette has done her bit outside of the WWE ring. She has her own podcast and is another example of a former WWE star doing well in other media.

It will be Charlotte Flair’s first leading role in a movie. It will also be only her second appearance in movies after she played a role in 2017’s Psych: The Movie as Heather Rockrear.

The 12-time Women’s Champion recently guest-starred alongside fellow WWE Superstar Alexa Bliss in an episode of the “Punky Brewster” reboot, which premiered last month on Peacock. Seems like things are taking off for The Queen outside of her WWE career.

With respect to her in-ring situation, Flair, after having seemingly put to bed her awful storyline with Lacey Evans, could be in line for a shot at Asuka’s WWE RAW Women’s Championship.

The two started pairing up together from December’s WWE TLC 2020 pay-per-view, where they won the Women’s Tag Team Championship. Having lost the belts to Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler, the duo was involved a mini-feud with the tag champs. But now Flair and Asuka seem set for a collision course themselves in the near future.
