Randy Orton and Matt Riddle combine to make R-K-Bro on WWE RAW
This week’s episode of WWE RAW left fans pleasantly surprised when it was revealed that there was a possibility of Randy Orton and Matt Riddle combining for a tag team.
The hints were there earlier, but it was not until this week that Orton considered fighting alongside Riddle, instead of against him.
Last week, the two fought against each other as Orton seemingly distanced himself a bit from ‘The Fiend’ and Alexa Bliss storyline after WrestleMania 37.
On the latest edition of RAW, however, ‘The Viper’ was seen backstage with Riddle and had a proposal. He admitted that he had earned a little respect for the ‘Super King of Bros’.
Orton said he would be willing to form a tag team, but only if the two won on the night in their match against Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin.
The two went on to win comfortably, hinting towards a new tag team being formed. It was reported last week that Orton could have bruised his shoulder in his fight against Riddle.
But he still managed to fight this week. Fightful (h/t nodq.com) have interestingly reported that Orton was scheduled to fight Braun Strowman and Riddle was to continue his feud with Sheamus.
However, it was the ‘Legend Killer’ who expressed an interest in working with Riddle. That is quite possibly the biggest compliment that Riddle can get at this stage in his career.
The storyline is a fresh change in what has recently become a mundane show at times. Orton’s enigmatic personality coupled with Riddle’s overeager, bubbly persona can be a fun combination to watch.
It remains to be seen what direction WWE takes with their storylines now, and if it means that they can still continue their other feuds on the sides.
