A huge tag team title match awaits Rey Mysterio and his son Dominik Mysterio next week, against The Usos
Rey and Dominik Mysterio created history when they became the first father and son tag team champions in WWE history after they beat Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler at the recently concluded WrestleMania Backlash.
They were out again this week on SmackDown, set to defend their title against Ziggler and Roode. Rey was already beaten up during the commercial break (it is not known who did that).
However, Dominik was up for it, as he took on Ziggler and Roode single-handedly. The father-son duo somehow retained their title after Dominik pinned Roode, with little help from Rey, albeit only towards the end.
Now they are all set for their massive clash against the Usos next week. Rey had previously spoken to BT Sport, and he couldn’t contain his excitement about facing the Usos.
He said:
“I can’t wait. I can’t wait…”There’s a history there from generations behind. The Lucha Libre style vs the Samoan Dynasty, I can’t wait.”
Mysterio had also claimed in the interview that he would give the Dirty Dawgs another opportunity, which he and Dominik have done, in the recent episode of SmackDown.
The Street Profits were another team Rey named, before going on to name the Usos.
“Hopefully we can give the Dirty Dawgs another opportunity. You know, Ziggler and Roode. The Street Profits, I think we can clash really big with them. And hopefully, the Usos.”
The pair face off next week on SmackDown and will be looking forward to putting on another title defense. They will be carrying a huge momentum going into the fight after Dominik single-handedly pulled off their first title defense against the Dirty Dawgs.
