Two Time WWE World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio reacts after King of the Ring loss
Former WWE world champion Rey Mysterio didn’t get a good start at the King of the Ring tournament as he got knocked out by Sami Zyan in the first round.
Mysterio took to Twitter to express his loss against Zayn. He seemed disappointed after the match. Rey mentioned not being able to finish the game with a win and also said about his son Dominik, who doubted his father’s capabilities.
“Banger or not just couldn’t get the job done tonight !! Feel sick to my stomach that @SamiZayn took the W & is getting my son @DomMysterio35 to doubt his old man!”
SmackDown kicked off with the start of the King of the Ring tournament
WWE kicked off the 2021 King of the Ring last night on SmackDown with two of the best in-ring performers Rey Mysterio and Sami Zyan, in round 1 of the tournament.
Zayn continued his rivalry with Rey, and this contest got even more intense as the King of the Ring knockout was at stake. However, Mysterio started pretty well with some of his maneuvers right in place.
“619” went for the pin 2-3 times but couldn’t get the victory as Zayn kicked out. Just when it seemed that Mysterio would win, an unintended distraction from Dominik allowed Zayn to make a comeback to the match.
Dominik came ringside to cheer for his father against Rey’s wish. Zayn capitalized on this event as he knocked Rey into his son and rolled him up for the win. After the match, Dominik was rebuked by his father.
In other matches, Finn Balor got the better of Cesaro in a hard-fought first-round bout. Zayn will be facing Balor in the semi-finals.
