Batista recently posted a comment on a video feature Rhea Ripley
Rhea Ripley is a former one-time WWE RAW Women’s champion, one-time WWE Tag Team champion (w/Nikki A.S.H.), one-time NXT Women’s champion, and one-time NXT UK Women’s champion. Batista on the other hand is a former six-time World champion in WWE, and a four-time Tag Team champion (2 w/Ric Flair, 1 w/John Cena, 1 w/Rey Mysterio)
Batista was one of the most powerful athletes in WWE when he was actively wrestling. He was arguably the top superstar on the SmackDown brand when John Cena was ruling on the red brand. The Animal was sharp, swift-footed for his size, and had an enviable physique.
Rhea Ripley is also known for her power game and has proven her might on the main roster. At only 25, Ripley has won almost every title in WWE, and the sheer dominance she displays while in the ring reminds us of Batista during his time at the top of WWE.
The former Evolution member, however, spotted another similarity between him and The Nightmare. Ripley’s entrance from last week’s RAW was shared by WWE’s official Instagram handle. Batista commentated on the video saying: “Seems familiar somehow“.
Rhea performs a stomp during her entrance with her right leg. Batista used to perform a stomp as well with the same leg. The 53-year-old commentated about the familiarity. Rhea’s version is much more exaggerated though as compared to Batista’s.
Rhea Ripley’s WrestleMania plan
The Australian was a former Tag Team champion with Nikki A.S.H. before they lost the titles to the current champions Queen Zelina and Carmella.
Ripley had a few chances to get herself into the RAW Women’s title picture but couldn’t succeed. She, however, has a chance to win back the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania.
Rhea will team up with Liv Morgan to face the teams of Sasha Banks and Naomi and the WWE Women’s Tag Team champions Queen Zelina and Carmella. The match will be a triple threat for the Tag Team titles.
Initially, Sasha and Naomi were set to take on the champions at The Grandest Stage of Them All. However, last week, Rhea and Liv beat the champions and earned their spot in the title match at ‘Mania making it a triple threat affair.
This week on RAW, Liv Morgan defeated Queen Zelina. The newest tag team on RAW, are building momentum heading into The Show of Shows.
