Rhea Ripley confident of taking revenge against Charlotte Flair at Hell in a Cell
Rhea Ripley puts her WWE Raw Women’s Championship on the line against Charlotte Flair at Hell in a Cell this Sunday.
The two have shared a rivalry from the past after Flair decimated Ripley at WrestleMania 36 to win the WWE NXT Championship. Ripley has since then come a long way and will be hoping to get the monkey of her back with a win.
The Nightmare fought valiantly last year, but could not match the prowess of Flair who is gunning to become a 14-time World Champion. Flair returned to WWE Raw and got caught up in the rivalry between Ripley and Asuka.
Flair will be highly motivated considering her last major title win came back in 2019. ‘The Queen’ has also been part of the first ever women’s Hell in a Cell match and can use that over the Aussie.
Ripley won the WWE Raw Women’s Championship after beating Asuka at WrestleMania 37 this year. The Nightmare also became the first woman to hold the NXT UK, NXT, and RAW Women’s Championships at the Grandest Stage of Them All.
This is the first fight since Ripley moved up to the main roster and conquered the division within months.
Charlotte Flair has absolutely been at the forefront of the women’s division since her debut. She has won every title there is in the company, but is still looking for more and match her father’s legacy. Ahead of her title match, she says: (h/t Bleacher Report )
“I’ve been in the title picture non-stop, but besides the tag titles, I haven’t been the champion, but people just associate me [with that]. So, [I’m thinking], ‘Play into that, go with that,’ but I have been chasing. At the same time, like I said on Raw Talk, do I need a title to be Charlotte Flair? Absolutely not. Am I going to go into this any different? Absolutely not.”
The Queen has a good chance of earning her first title in a long time. Her last few years have been hindered by injuries, but she is looking to get back to her throne after Hell in a Cell.
