24-year old Rhea Ripley is the current WWE Raw Women’s champion
Ripley had one of the most memorable April months one could ever have. The Australian made her Raw debut only at the end of March. In no time she found herself fighting for the Raw Women’s championship in early April.
Ripley was scheduled to face Asuka for the women’s championship on Night 2 of Wrestlemania 37 on the 11th of April.
She put on a clinic against Asuka on the night of Wrestlemania 37 as she won the women’s championship just 20 days after making her RAW debut.
She is now scheduled to defend her championship against Charlotte Flair and Asuka at Wrestlemania Backlash next week.
Recently, Ripley appeared in an episode of Out of Character with Ryan Satin, as she discussed her WWE career.
The Australian stated that taking up acting classes has really helped her WWE character. She added that her confidence level is not that great when it comes to real life.
Ripley told Satin when asked if taking up acting classes helped her:
“Yeah definitely. My confidence isn’t huge in my every day life. Like I’m a really shy person, I’m not very confident. I’m not good at keeping a conversation and being a larger than life person.”
Before Rhea Ripley made her NXT debut, The Aussie made her WWE debut competing in the inaugural Mae Young Classic. She lost to Dakota Kai in the second round.
Ripley revealed that the phase between the inaugural Mae Young Classic and the second edition was the darkest phase of her career. She claimed that she was totally unhappy with life, work and outside of work.
That’s when Ripley decided to change herself. She appeared as a heel in the second Mae Young Classic, and demolished her opponents, going all the way until the semi-finals.
Ripley then divulged that, she has been the same since and that ‘Second Mae Young Classic’ Ripley is the Ripley everyone gets to see even now.
