Ripley made her presence known to the wrestling world last week when she returned on NXT and went straight after Charlotte Flair.
The Queen was able to defeat Ripley back at WrestleMania 36, capturing the NXT Women’s Championship in the process. Rhea hasn’t been seen since then, but now, it appears as if all signs are pointing towards her challenging for the belt.
Ripley vs Shirai
Ripley and Shirai faced each other in a brutal main-event match last night. Shirai hit Ripley with everything in her arsenal, but ‘The Nightmare’ got back up every time.
Ripley then started punishing Io Shirai, but WWE NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair entered the ring and distracted Rhea Ripley.
Shirai delivered a headscissors to Ripley which sent her flying into The Queen. Charlotte then got involved and attacked Io Shirai, causing a disqualification. She hit Ripley with a spear to end the segment.
Ripley made her return after Charlotte’s title match against Shirai. Charlotte got disqualified for hitting Shirai with a kendo stick.
There was then a post-match angle where Charlotte attacked Shirai’s leg, but Ripley returned and attacked Charlotte. Shirai yelled at Ripley after that, with Ripley responding by telling her to shut up.
Ripley then did an interview outside of the building where she said she’s sick and tired of Charlotte. The Australian added that Charlotte defeated her at WrestleMania, but that was just one night and she’d like to see The Queen try it again.
