The former WWE United States Champion Ricochet was successful in winning another title.
Ricochet looks to have finally got his well-deserved push. He ended Sami Zayn’s Intercontinental Championship reign which lasted just 2 weeks.
Rumors were going around that the talented high-flyer Ricochet was going to be given a major push after being in the lower to mid-card for most of his career in the main roster. According to reports, the CEO and Chairman of WWE Vince McMahon were in favor of giving Ricochet the push.
The 33-year old’s career had been meandering along since the time he was on RAW. It continued even after he was drafted to SmackDown. But finally, he has got what he deserved, and hopefully, this push is an extended one. Very few superstars in the roster can match Ricochet’s athletic abilities and gravity-defying moves. Ricochet can become a great champion if WWE gives him time with the title.
Johnny Knoxville costs Sami Zayn the Intercontinental title
The finish to the match between Ricochet and Sami Zayn saw Johnny Knoxville distract Sami and help Ricochet execute a hurricanrana into a pinning combination to secure the victory.
Knoxville started a feud with Sami last week. Sami was celebrating his Intercontinental title win last week on SmackDown when Johnny interrupted and challenged Sami for the title. Zayn didn’t accept the challenge stating Knoxville doesn’t belong in WWE. He would then deliver a cheap shot on Knoxville and then take him out with a brutal assault delivering a couple of Helluva kicks.
This week Knoxville got his revenge as he helped Ricochet win the title after he distracted Zayn. An irate Sami Zayn challenged Johnny to a match at WrestleMania which the latter accepted with glee.
Johnny Knoxville made his WWE in-ring debut at the Royal Rumble this year. He entered at number 9 before being eliminated by Sami Zayn. Johnny Knoxville will be looking to get his revenge at The Grandest Stage of Them All.
