WWE Superstar Matt Riddle gets injured as his match against Seth Rollins got pulled out from SummerSlam Card
Former WWE United States Champion Riddle was scheduled to face Seth Rollins at Saturday’s SummerSlam premium live event. However, that match has been pulled out from the SummerSlam card as Riddle got injured.
In today’s episode of “The Bump,” it was revealed that Riddle suffered an injury during Seth Rollins’s attack on Monday Night Raw. So, the match has been postponed.
“BREAKING: @WWERollins injured @SuperKingofBros with a vicious attack on #WWERaw that resulted in a brachial plexus injury (a stinger). Riddle is medically disqualified until full strength returns. Due to this injury, Riddle vs. Rollins at #SummerSlam has been postponed”.
As of right now no replacement for Seth Rollins has been announced. It has not been confirmed yet whether he will compete at SummerSlam or not. The match is rescheduled for some point in the future.
WWE has announced that the planned match between Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins has been pulled out from the SummerSlam card due to Riddle suffering a stinger as a result of an attack from Rollins during Monday Night Raw.
Now it has been reported by Fightful Select that the injury is a kayfabe and Riddle is fine. WWE has reportedly planned to do the match down the line with the working plan for it to be held at Clash at the castle on September 3rd.
Fightful also revealed that the sources said the reason the match was pushed back is due to some “creative adjustments”. However, Rollins will be travelling for SummerSlam weekend as he has a media conference scheduled for Friday.
This is a big miss for SummerSlam as the two have a real-life heat as well which would have spiced things up between the two during the match. However, still, some fireworks are left as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will face Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing Match in the main event of the premium live event.
