Dexter Lumis is one of the weirdest characters on NXT
NXT star Dexter Lumis is someone that Road Dogg, Brian James, enjoys working on.
Lumis, who has been on TNA in the past, is this mysterious character that doesn’t talk at all. He has been interfering in the Undisputed Era’s business recently and has this weird fetish to stare at his rivals.
Dogg spoke on several talents on NXT and highlighted why he loves working on this character.
The former DX member was on the After the Bell podcast, and wanted to make things interesting for Lumis’ character:
“Dexter Lumis is the one that jumps right out. As a character, this guy could work, cut flips out of the ring and land on his feet and all kind of crazy crap. But that’s not why he is cool. He is cool because there is something about him that’s cool and he ain’t doing much, he is just staring at people.
“It’s so interesting and cool. We spent like two hours talking about where he is from, where is this guy from. We landed on Recluse, Wyoming and that is so cool but I wanted to say he is from Skinwalker Ranch.
“It is like a hotbed for UFO sightings and paranormal activity.”
Working on each aspect of the character
James added that he loved working on every aspect of the character, including the backstory too. He added that exploring the character on a weekly basis isn’t easy, simply because there was a lot of wrestling to do too.
The former wrestler further spoke about the likes of Dominik Dijakovic and exploring the character and learning more about him, not only the wrestling part.
Adam Cole, Velveteen Dream and Matt Riddle were three others that were named by James during the show.
He claimed that Riddle is a superstar in the making while Cole is possibly the best talent he has worked with.
Riddle recently made the move to SmackDown after starring on NXT. Cole, for his part, is to face Dream with the NXT title on the line at TakeOver: In Your House.
