ROH confirm break as they release all talent ahead of 2022

ROH has made the decision to release all staff and talent with plans to reimagine the company

It has recently been announced that ROH (Ring Of Honor) has decided to take a break and will halt their business operations. The company plans on changing their business operations and come up with a more fan centric mission and strategy. As reported the discussions were made almost a week ago and now it has been officially announced.

ROH broke the news over their Twitter handle where they posted (h/t WrestlingInc):

“Throughout the pandemic, our top priority was to keep everyone healthy and safe, and despite not producing any live events over 18 months, we were able to keep everyone fully contracted. We now find ourselves at a time where we need to make changes to our business operations and are planning a pivot for Ring of Honor, with a new mission and strategy.

“The year will culminate with a Final Battle in December, and we will be taking the first quarter of 2022 to work internally to reimagine ROH. ROH has the most dedicated fans in the industry, and we appreciate their loyalty and patience as we reconceptualize ROH.

“We anticipate returning to live events in April for the Super Card of Honor with a new fan-focused product and provide a unique experience for wrestling fans.”

The company has made it known that they have done their best during the pandemic to keep their operations open. They even kept everyone fully contracted despite of not hosting any live shows. Live shows the primary source of income for the wrestling promotions.

When will ROH return?

ROH is planning to return in April 2022 with their Supercard of Honor. The upcoming Final Battle PPV which is scheduled for December 11th will be their last event before they halt their operations. The company is aiming to ‘work internally to reimagine’ their business strategy.

The company will focus on coming up with a new fan centric product. Which will give fans a unique wrestling experience. This is why they have planned to take roughly four months off from all kinds of wrestling events.

ROH has been a talent hub in many ways, many superstars in the mainstream promotions like WWE and AEW have started their journey in ROH. The fans will certainly look forward to their new product and a reimagined concept of wrestling to give fans a unique experience.
