Roman Reigns continued his dominating run as he choked out Goldberg to retain the title at Elimination Chamber
WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns took on the mighty Goldberg with the title at stake. Roman entered to The Bloodline and Paul Heyman, and Goldberg came on with all the chants.
The match started with Goldberg pushing Reigns back until he got some knees and overpowered Goldberg outside the ring. The Tribal Chief slammed Goldberg’s face at the announce table before the latter rebounded and put Reigns through the barricade.
Goldberg slammed Reigns through the table and got him back at the ring, where The Bull Dog made a comeback and knocked the former Universal Champion down to one knee. However, Goldberg didn’t hold back much as he speared Reigns.
Reigns hit an Ura-Nage and went for the pin for a near fall. Then he hit Goldberg with a Superman Punch, which made him bleed a bit from his head. However, that didn’t stop Goldberg to hit Reigns with another Spear.
Goldberg went for the JackHammer again, but Reigns countered it and locked him in the Guillotine. He powered through the hold twice, but Reigns wouldn’t let go. The Tribal Chief didn’t leave the lock until Goldberg got faded as the referee lifted his hand to fall and resulting in calling the match.
This was a fiercely competitive battle which was eventually won by Reigns as he retains the title again and his superiority continues. Goldberg did put up a great fight, but it was not enough for him to win against The Universal Champion.
According to the contract, it was Goldberg’s last match. It will be interesting to see if WWE renews it again and if we could see him again in some time. As Fans will be eager to know that answer.
