Edge was on WWE SmackDown but wasn’t left all that great after a spear from Roman Reigns

This week’s WWE SmackDown started with a huge opening segment as Edge spoke with Roman Reigns.

Edge is expected to choose his rival for WrestleMania 37 after winning the 2021 Royal Rumble. However, there is the problem of the Elimination Chamber on Sunday. Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre will defend their titles on the PPV and there is a chance neither of them leave as champions.

This was a crazy SmackDown episode as Edge rubbed shoulders with many stars such as Daniel Bryan and Cesaro too.

However, the finale saw Edge spear Jey Uso and then get speared by Reigns to close the show. There was also a weird moment early on when Reigns whispered something in the ear of Edge.

Reigns explained why he speared the Rated-R Superstar and it seems to stem from Edge taking over the show.

“I let you open my show, but you’re not going to close it.”

A battle of the spears at WrestleMania 37?

Edge and Reigns at WrestleMania 37 would be something great. The pair are two of the best in the business right now and it would see a heel in Reigns taking on a face.

Edge vs McIntyre would be a great match too. However, both of them are faces and it would be a little difficult to bring up a rivalry between the pair.

Reigns has been on another level since teaming up with Paul Heyman and with Uso on his side, he would be the favourite to win this WrestleMania bout.

However, Tommy Dreamer believes that WWE should bring Christian to be on Edge’s side. This would give Edge a slight edge and also nullify the threat of Heyman and Uso.

Edge and Reigns both use spears as their finisher and WrestleMania 37 could see a battle of that move. Reigns might be the champion now, but all that could change as Edge continues his incredible comeback from injury and tries to reach the top.
