Roman Reigns has an incredible SmackDown record for the past one and a half year
WWE shared a post on their Instagram account which mentioned one pretty amazing statistic; Roman Reigns has not been pinned or tapped out for nearly 18 months.
That is an astounding statistic considering the amount of action he has seen during that time, considering he is the face of the company..
Yes, it’s all scripted, but it really shows the pedestal that Reigns has been put on by the company and how his status as ‘The Big Dog’ is not up for debate.
His last loss came all the way back on the 8th November episode of SmackDown in 2019, where he lost to King Corbin.
‘The Head of the Table’ was feuding with Robert Roode, Corbin, and Dolph Ziggler. A series of interferences and an ‘End of Days’ was enough to beat Reigns.
Reigns would be hoping to keep that streak alive and make it cross the 18 month mark when he takes on Daniel Bryan on this week’s SmackDown on 30th April.
The match has a lot at stake; Reigns could either lose his WWE Universal title, or Bryan could be banished from SmackDown forever.
Generally, this has led fans to believe that Bryan is running his last few laps at WWE before announcing his retirement.
But this statistic, shared at such a time, could mean that WWE are trying to add further hype and meaning to the fight and to Bryan’s victory; if he does manage to win, that is.
Even if he loses, The Leader of the ‘Yes!’ Movement can still feature on RAW and NXT, which is something that the fans would wish if Reigns does walk out of the ring with the belt on Friday.
