Roman Reigns seems to have taken the Tribal Chief name to heart and is acting in the same fashion as Paul Heyman posted a tribute
This week’s SmackDown saw Roman Reigns dial it up as The Tribal Chief and The Head of the Table.
These are two nicknames that Reigns has bestowed upon himself and the champion was livid with Adam Pearce.
Reigns, the Universal Champion, wanted to choose his rival for the Royal Rumble. Instead, Pearce set up a gauntlet match for the No.1 contender’s slot. Reigns was also upset with what happened to Kevin Owens last week and blamed Pearce for the injuries sustained by KO.
Reigns has been brilliant as a heel and Paul Heyman, his manager, had glowing praise for him. The Advocate claimed Reigns was obsessed at being the best and wanted to elevate and redesign the product.
Heyman, who has worked with stars such as Brock Lesnar and CM Punk, lavished more praise on Reigns in the post and claimed Reigns wanted to take the industry to another level of greatness.
The Big Dog reacted in the perfect manner and had a curt reply of how much he was enjoying his time as a heel:
“Love your work, and your work will love you.”
Setting up his Royal Rumble clash
Reigns took matters into his own hands on Friday as he played a big role in determining who his rival was going to be.
Shinsuke Nakamura seemed set to win the gauntlet match but Pearce was added into this clash by Heyman.
It seemed that Reigns wanted Pearce, a former indie wrestler, to be beaten up by Nakamura. However, Reigns and Jey Uso first attacked Nakamura and then Pearce.
The pair placed Pearce on top of Nakamura and just like that, the WWE official was confirmed to face Reigns at the Rumble.
