Several WWE stars, including Roman Reigns, are no longer advertising for Money in the Bank 2022
WWE recently downgraded the Money on the Bank’s venue from 65000 seater Allegiant Stadium to the 17000 seaters MGM Grand Garden. The main reason could be creative differences.
After WWE announced the venue change, many fans on social media have pointed out how the updated poster for the July 2nd premium live event is no longer advertising top WWE superstars such as Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Bobby Lashley. In addition, reigns, Lesnar, Flair and Rousey also no longer appear on the event page at WWE.com, as they did previously.
The updated poster now features the likes of Cody Rhodes, Riddle, Rhea Ripley, The Miz and The Street Profits and not even a single one of them were on the previous poster.
It was reported earlier that Reigns will be challenging Undisputed WWE Universal Title against Riddle at the MITB event before moving on to Randy Orton at SummerSlam and Drew McIntyre at the “Clash at the Castle” event in Cardiff, Wales.
It should be noted that online promotional material isn’t always indicative of WWE’s creative plans. So, the rumoured Reigns vs Riddle match at MITB cannot be ruled out. The rivalry already started between the Bloodline and Riddle last week on SmackDown.
The WWE universe got a big shock as the first of the company’s big three stadium shows this Summer was moved to the arena instead of the stadium. It was heavily marketed for weeks on RAW and SmackDown, with Cody Rhodes being the flag bearer.
According to Brad Shepard, WWE will be moving their Money in the Bank event from Allegiant Stadium to MGM Grand Garden Arena due to poor ticket sales.
WrestleVotes also took to social media this afternoon to comment on the venue change to the MGM Grand Garden Arena. They were shocked to see WWE change venues because it’s basically the company admitted that running this event as a stadium show was a bad idea.
