Roman Reigns thinks his WWE Universal title match at WrestleMania Backlash with Cesaro stood out because of himself

‘The Tribal Chief’ reigned supreme yet again this weekend. Roman Reigns defended his WWE Universal title for the umpteenth time in a row.

This time, it was Cesaro, and the two put out one of the best (if not the best) matches this year. ‘The Swiss Cyborg’ gave Reigns a run for his money for nearly 30 minutes.

He had a lot of good moments in the match and in the end, even looked like pulling off the unthinkable. But that was not to be.

Reigns locked him in a submission hold which saw him pass out, and the referee awarded the match to the defending champion. It was a proper battle and by far the best match at Backlash.

And after it was all said and done, WWE’s social media asked fans to vote between matches as the best one at WrestleMania Backlash.

The options were: a) Roman Reigns vs Cesaro, b) Bobby Lashley vs Braun Strowman vs Drew McIntyre, c) Bianca Belair vs Bayley, and d) Rhea Ripley vs Asuka vs Charlotte Flair.

As you would expect, Reigns nominated himself and said that his main event fight deserved a special status just because of him and him alone.

And in the last line, he even challenged the WWE roster to come at him with the best they’ve got. It will be interesting to see what the promotion could have for him next.

A possible inter-promotion title match against Bobby Lashley, like Booker T suggested, could be a possible option.

But it seems more likely that a SmackDown superstar awaits him next. Could it be one of his own, Jimmy Uso? Only time will tell.
