WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns not going to feature at Hell in a Cell

Roman Reigns and his cousins The Usos are reportedly not going to feature on Sunday at WWE Hell in a Cell.

Reigns come off a Hell in a Cell match against Rey Mysterio, dominating the “Master of the 619” throughout to retain the title. With the win, it seems that Reigns has no fight scheduled on Sunday.

According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer, he says: (h/t Wrestling Edge)

“I was told on Thursday when it all came down that Roman is not on the Sunday pay-per-view, that’s what I was told. So, I know that it wasn’t another match for Roman so I figured maybe it was Rey and Dominik vs the Usos so they could do another match for the Usos where the Usos go over, and I was told today ‘that’s not it either.’ It was not an angle situation where they’re going to do some Friday angles on Sunday it was the Sunday match was moved to Friday and they did exactly what they were going to do on Sunday, but they wanted more eyeballs on it, and that’s the basic answer.”

What will Reigns next move be?

Reigns has defended his title against some of the best on the roster. His best defence came at WrestleMania 37 against Daniel Bryan and Edge. The Head of the Table is now going into July still the champion, and looks confident ahead of a tough opponent at the upcoming Summerslam.

Reigns is going to be facing a returning star reportedly in the form of John Cena. Cena is likely to make an appearance in August to face the current best of WWE. The matchup will also welcome back packed crowds as WWE begins touring in July.
