Former SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey imitates a controversial DX member move at the WWE Money in the Bank
Former SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey recently did something related to the infamous controversial Montreal Screwjob during her title match at WWE Money in the Bank against Natalya.
Rousey faced Natalya for the SmackDown Women’s Champion at the pay-per-view event. Both women exchanged heated words on social media leading up to the match. Last week Natalya even mocked the Baddest Women on the Planet by putting her attire and pushing a stroller to the ring.
During their match, Rousey hit a sharpshooter on Natalya, a move often used by the members of the Hart family. While holding the maneuver, Rousey imitated Hall of Famer Shawn Michael’s signature bicep flex which he does during his entrance. This was a reference to the controversial Montreal Screwjob incident between HBK and Bret Hart at Survivor Series in 1997.
Following her win, as Rousey was celebrating, the winner of the Women’s MITB ladder match, Liv Morgan, cashed in her contract to pin Rousey to win her first title in WWE.
Rousey did put on a fight as she went for the ankle lock on Morgan. However, Morgan was smart enough to attack the injured knee and roll her up for the pin to win the SmackDown Women’s Champion.
The Baddest Women on the Planet hugged the new SmackDown Women’s Champion showing mutual respect between the two women. However, it is still unknown whether the feud between Natalya and Rousey ended.
