Former WWE star Ruby Soho thought she would never make it at WWE
Ruby Soho recently made her debut on AEW in the most outstanding fashion possible by winning the 21-women Casino Battle Royale at AEW All Out. She came in as a joker and picked up the win. Recently while talking Digital Spy, Ruby said about not making it to WWE when she started her wrestling.
According to Digital Spy, Soho said that,
“I never thought that I was going to make it to WWE.
“At the time that I had started [wrestling], they weren’t hiring women that looked like me.
She also described the moment when she walked into the ring while making her debut and how amazing it felt when fans chanted her name.
“I went into it with expectations of just, I really hope and pray that they like me, or they’re happy to see me or they’re happy that I am The Joker,”
“So it was an amazing surprise, not only to hear ‘Ruby’ but ‘Ruby Soho’, which is a name I hadn’t gone by yet. It just felt like the perfect beginning to this new chapter of my life, like these people know that this is a new start and they know that this is a different version of me and I’m excited to, you know, show who that really is.”
The former Riott Squad member also spoke about her AEW debut
While talking to the Digital spy, she spoke about her great debut for AEW as a joker in the Battle Royale. Soho said that when she came to AEW, she felt at home and mentioned authentic fans.
“I still felt like I couldn’t quite find my place and didn’t quite fit in and then coming to AEW, it was instant. It was immediate, I felt like I was home.
“I think one of the best things about AEW is, and why our fans are so amazing, they see everyone on our roster as the most authentic version of themselves and I think they respond to that.”
Soho is really grabbing the opportunity that AEW is giving her with both hands and seems to be in a much better place mentally.
