Braun Strowman was the biggest name to be recently released by the WWE
6 Superstars were recently released by the WWE as a part of their usual budget cuts. Out of the 6, one name stood out significantly- Braun Strowman.
‘The Monster Among Men’s release came as a surprise to almost everyone in the pro-wrestling community, since he had very much been in relevance in the promotion.
Strowman even challenged for the WWE title last month against Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania Backlash.
More recently, a rumor (h/t Wrestling Edge) has been doing the rounds that Strowman was released due to his huge $1.2 million per year contract. ‘The New Face of Destruction’ had signed a new contract in October 2019.
And hence, releasing him would have eased their financial load to a great extent. None of the previously released superstars were being paid such a huge amount.
Financially it does make sense, but doing it at the cost of a talent like Strowman, might be a grave error.
Alexa Bliss reacts to Braun Strowman’s release from the WWE
Alexa Bliss’s pig Larry just died, and as if that weren’t enough, her dear friend Strowman was released from the WWE, as well.
Bliss took to Twitter sharing just a word with a heartbreak emoji. “Terrible”, she wrote.
Bliss and Strowman had an interesting storyline in 2018. Team Little Big, as they were known, they had several mixed tag team contests and did form a formidable pair during early 2018.
However, things took a dramatic turn in 2020, when he threw Alexa Bliss in an episode of SmackDown unleashing the monster in him.
