Talking Smack had Sami Zayn lauding Roman Reigns but he was certain of getting a win over the Universal Champion
Sami Zayn was one of the guests of this week’s Talking Smack and he shared his thoughts on Roman Reigns and how WWE had been using him.
Kayla Braxton and Paul Heyman were the others present at the table and this has been one of the best parts of the Blue Brand.
Zayn and Baron Corbin won their tag match to feature in the Elimination Chamber match at the PPV. The winner of that clash takes on Roman Reigns for the title and Zayn claimed that he could get the better of the champion but was respectful enough to add he wouldn’t be able to destroy him (h/t Wrestling Inc):
“I’m not going to sit here and come on the show and say that, ‘Oh, if I go in the ring with the Universal Champion Roman Reigns, I would plow through him.’ Man to man, head-to-head, on any given night, it could go either way. That’s what I think. But this is a step closer than I’ve gotten in a long, long, long time.”
Zayn is a former Intercontinental Champion and has been upset with WWE not setting up a proper title match for him.
Big E won the title from the Canadian and it is to be seen when this clash is set up in the future.
Roman Reigns knows his value for WWE
Zayn also alluded to how Reigns had learned about how big he is for WWE. Zayn earlier brought up how Reigns would follow the company and do what he was told.
However, that has changed a bit since his return and Reigns has been taking WWE, and its officials, on a ride. Reigns has become a brilliant heel and he now drives the show, something that Zayn brought up:
“But eventually, he realized that the company is breading their butter with Roman Reigns. He realized he was their golden goose, and he started playing them instead of being played by them. So, I respect that”
Reigns took matters into his own hands on this week’s SmackDown. He ensured that he didn’t have to fight in the Elimination Chamber and will now face the winner of that match on the same night.
Reigns has been on another level since returning to WWE but it is to be seen how he would do against Zayn in a title clash.
