Trae Young made an appearance on WWE SmackDown at MSG
NBA star Trae Young came on WWE SmackDown this week at MSG. Young plays for the Atlanta Hawks and they defeated New York Knicks in the first round of 2020 NBA Playoffs. MSG is also the home arena of the Knicks.
Sami Zayn introduced Young by saying “someone who knows how to win in MSG”. Sami Zayn later tweeted a picture of him and Young which said:
Trae Young also tweeted a picture saying “NYC I’m back”. Young was welcomed with boos all around the arena, for obvious reasons.
What happened in the 10 man tag team match
There was a 10 man tag team match scheduled between Sami Zayn, Robert Roode, Dolph Ziggler, Otis and Apollo Crews vs. WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, Big E, Rick Boogs, Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio.
Young was introduced before the match went underway. Young accompanied Zayn to the ring and stood by the ringside receiving a chorus of boos.
The Atlanta Hawks star was trying to do everything he can to turn the match into the favor of Zayn and his team. Young even got involved in the match when he choked Rey Mysterio on the ropes.
The referee saw this and ejected Young from ringside also this drew a lot of cheers from the fans in the building at MSG. This turned the match in the favor Mysterio’s team. Dominik and Rey delivered 619s to Zayn before Big E ended the match with Big ending and pinning Zayn to serve his team a defeat.
