Samoa Joe advices wrestlers seeking inspiration from WWE great Brock Lesnar
Current NXT enforcer Samoa Joe is back in WWE after a lengthy time off television. Joe was released by WWE recently but was brought back and now is the enforcer to NXT GM William Regal and deals with Superstars.
Joe was one of the top stars in WWE before picking up a concussion during an ad shoot. That cut his in-ring time down but he still had some great battles in the past, such as the one with Brock Lesnar.
While Joe couldn’t pick up the main gold on the big brands, he still highlighted how facing Lesnar is the match everyone wants.
While talking to Out of Character, he discusses various aspects including facing former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar, saying:
“I think if you’re in this industry, Brock is the type of match you should be seeking out. When you get into this industry, you should be gunning to work with the top, top guys. Brock was the top, top guy. When I was given the opportunity, I did my best to make the most of it every time I was in the ring with him. It’s important. You’ve got to have kind of a goal post and a bar of excellence that you maintain. It’s easy when you’ve got guys like Brock, guys like Kurt Angle, guys like Roman. You push yourself because they push.
“For me it’s a good symbiotic relationship, because they’re going to give as hard as they get and vice versa. I get an opportunity to get in the ring with those type of performers, a Randy Orton, these are guys who are at the top of their game. They do their very best to push their opponents.
Joe also praised Lesnar for his work ethic citing the rivalry which they shared earlier. The former NXT Champion was released from WWE in May earlier this year, after suffering budget cuts. His return is a boost to the brand who now see him wrestling in the near future.
When will we see Brock Lesnar return to WWE?
Lesnar has not been in WWE since his loss at WrestleMania 36 to Drew McIntyre. He relinquished the WWE Championship at the Grandest Stage of Them All. Since then, there were various reports of his return to the company. Lesnar is one of the most dominant champions in recent history, having aligned with advocate Paul Heyman.
The rumors were placing Lesnar in a title match with current WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
However, recent reports, suggest he is touted to return at the end of the year as the company may head to Saudi Arabia. We will wait and see if the ‘Beast Incarnate’ comes back and shows us a glance of ‘Suplex City’ yet again.
