Sasha Banks returns to attack Bianca Belair on Friday Night SmackDown
WWE Superstar Sasha Banks made her long awaited return by attacking SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair.
Banks ran into the ring when Zelina Vega and Carmella attacked the EST of WWE and saved her from the beatdown. The two embraced before Banks hit a backstabber on her.
She then delivered her finisher ‘Bank Statement’ on Belair to send a message to the entire roster. Banks also took to Twitter to deliver a warning to the Champion, saying:
Banks was out since her loss at WrestleMania and was likely to make her return this month. With Bayley’s injury, the timing of the move is perfect, considering the roster depth.
Belair, who was celebrating 110 days as Champion, was interrupted by Carmella who spoke about her longer title reign. Vega, demanded a shot soon after leading to a 2-on-1 assault.
Banks‘ heel turn could mean only one thing- a match between Belair and Banks at SummerSlam for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
The two have unfinished business and will look to complete it next month in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Will Bianca Belair withstand the Sasha Banks attack?
Bianca Belair has done an impressive job since becoming Champion. She has outlasted Banks and Bayley in the last 3 or so months. The EST of WWE has also put away tough competition in the division and has stood tall. She has made an impressive rise since joining the main roster from WWE NXT.
With Banks’ return, her reign is under serious threat as she will face her biggest threat. The Boss was the reigning champion at the start of the year, before a Belair upset took the title away. She will have those memories fresh in her mind, as she looks to reclaim it in this new gimmick.
