Sasha Banks wasn’t all that happy when Ronda Rousey joined WWE
SmackDown Superstar Sasha Banks has revealed that she wasn’t left best impressed when Ronda Rousey joined WWE.
Banks was the latest guest on the Kurt Angle Show to discuss all things about WWE. Banks also spoke about whether or not there was real beef between her and Rousey, and revealed why she had an issue with the latter coming into WWE.
“I can only speak for myself, there might be a little tension but I don’t know about real heat. I was pissed off that Ronda Rousey could come in, get more money than me, get a locker room instead of me, bring all these people backstage and get more time [on screen] than me.”
“Excuse me? Who is you and what you do? Besides respecting everything she’s done in the UFC and the fight world, when it comes to the squared circle, that’s my home, that’s work, that’s why I’m a legit boss. Not Ronda Rousey.”
After making her name as one of the world’s most notable female mixed martial artists, Rowdy opted for a new challenge as she pursued a career in professional wrestling.
She became the first-ever American woman to earn a medal in judo at the Olympic Games — winning bronze at Beijing in 2008.
She joined the company in 2018 and it didn’t take long for her to impress everyone around in the company. She had the experience in that and she used it here as well and rightly so.
Sasha Banks has held the NXT Women’s Title as well as the WWE RAW Women’s Championship (4 times). “The Legit Boss” has performed for the WWE since 2012 and was issued the main roster call-up back in 2015, and the rest, as they say, is history.
So, when Ronda Rousey joined the WWE – there might be some kind of insecurity and jealousy which could have the friction between the two. Banks might have thought all the attention which she was getting might get diverted.
