WWE superstar Sasha Banks will be in charge of waving the green flag at this month’s Daytona 500
NASCAR goes to Daytona Beach, Florida, this month, and we all know what that means. Daytona 500 is just over a week away, and we will be seeing a WWE superstar officially involved at the race.
WWE SmackDown women’s champion Sasha Banks will be an honorary starter at the event. The news was made public on this week’s SmackDown.
The Boss could not be more thrilled at the news. She quoted a tweet by WWE which made the announcement and replied, “Who wants to race?”
Banks is one of the most decorated female wrestlers in WWE history. Banks is a Triple Crown champion and a Grand Slam champion.
Her appearance at the event will undoubtedly bring up the viewer audience for the event. And in return, the NASCAR fanbase could be driven to WWE.
Sasha Banks at Daytona 500 could be a great marketing move by both parties
She recently defender her belt at Royal Rumble at Carmella, and will most likely defend it again at WrestleMania 37 against Royal Rumble 2021 winner Bianca Belair.
Daytona 500 is one of the most-watched auto-racing events in the world. It is also one of the most trying races in the racing calendar.
The drivers are required to drive 200 laps around a 2.5 mile-long track. It is by far the most watched race in the NASCAR Cup Series.
The race takes place next weekend on February 14th, 2021, at 02:30 P.M. E.T. The venue is the famous Dayton International Speedway in Daytona, Florida.
It will air on FOX, which probably explains the tie-up between WWE and NASCAR for this event as WWE airs on that very network as well in the United States of America.
