Becky Lynch made her WWE return for the first time since her loss to Bianca Belair in a spectacular match at WrestleMania 38. Drew McIntyre wrestled Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship while the skillful Aliyah took on Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. All the titles on the main roster except the RAW Tag Team Championship and the WWE 24/7 Championship were defended on the show.

None of the titles changed hands and that is quite normal in the house shows but the quality of matches and the superstars on display were all top-notch and fans certainly had a great experience.

So let’s get into the matches and their respective results in the following segment:

United States Championship Match – Finn Balor (c) versus Theory

Theory will face Finn Balor once again this week on RAW but the fans in attendance had a preview as the two went head to head for Balor’s United States Title. Vince McMahon’s protege couldn’t win the title on the night but with the kind of push he is getting, a championship might not be far away for the 24-year-old Theory.

Result – Finn Balor beat Theory

SmackDown Women’s Championship Match – Charlotte Flair (c) versus Aliyah

The talented Aliyah faced the “Queen” Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship but eventually lost to the veteran. This match would however be a huge learning for the 27-year-old who has rarely been seen on SmackDown of late.

Result – Charlotte Flair beat Aliyah

AJ Styles versus Damien Priest

Damien Priest got himself disqualified after hitting Styles with a steel chair. The rivalry between AJ Styles and Edge is far from over and Damien Priest is a huge part of it.

Result – AJ Styles beat Damien Priest via DQ

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match – The Usos (c) versus The New Day (Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston) versus Sheamus and Ridge Holland

There was no way The Usos were going to drop the titles as they already have a Title Unification match against the RAW Tag Team champions RK-Bro at WrestleMania Backlash. The Bloodline retained the titles at the event.

Result – The Usos beat The New Day and Sheamus and Ridge Holland

Cody Rhodes versus Seth Rollins

This is the second time in two weeks that The Visionary and The American Nightmare went head to head. Cody won the first match at WrestleMania 38 which was his return to WWE after six years. He once again defeated the former Universal champion at the show in another epic match. These two will again face each other at WrestleMania Backlash.

Result – Cody Rhodes beat Seth Rollins

Intercontinental Championship Match – Ricochet (c) versus Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn lost to Johnny Knoxville at WrestleMania 38 and is now involved in a feud with former WWE champion Drew McIntyre on SmackDown. Sami’s rough time continued as he failed to win the title from the high-flying Ricochet.

Result – Ricochet beat Sami Zayn

RAW Women’s Championship Match – Bianca Belair (c) versus Becky Lynch versus Rhea Ripley

This was Becky’s first WWE appearance after her loss to the EST of WWE at WrestleMania 38. Before her match, Becky revealed that she was absent from RAW after her loss at The Show of Shows because she wasn’t ready to walk out to RAW without holding the title. She intended to regain the RAW Women’s Championship and appear on RAW this week but Bianca retained in a physical match with Ripley playing her part too.

Result – Bianca Belair beat Becky Lynch and Rhea Ripley

WWE Universal Championship Match – Roman Reigns (c) versus Drew McIntyre

The Tribal Chief successfully defended against the Scottish Warrior in a physical match. As per reports, these two will face each other a number of times over the next few months.

Result – Roman Reigns beat Drew McIntyre

Meanwhile, the WrestleMania Backlash card is shaping up quite well with already a couple of WrestleMania rematches lined up.
