Seth Rollins breaks his silence after fan attack on Raw
WWE Superstar Seth Rollins has broken his silence after a fan attacked him during Monday’s night edition of RAW. Rollins speaking to TMZ at the airport revealed that he was of course scare when the attack took place.
On Monday, while the superstar was heading backstage – a fan jumped the barricade and attacked the champion from behind much to the shock of everyone. When asked whether he was scared, the wrestler said:
“Of course, I was. It’s terrifying, brother.”
“It happened very quickly, so I was mostly just reacting and hoping that our security team would come and do their job, which they did very quickly and then I was just trying to detach and move on. I hope that everybody is okay.”
Rollins had a fight against Finn Balor but the encounter never happened as the former started beating the latter before the starting bell rang. After beating the hell out of Balor, the wrestler was heading backstage where from nowhere a fan entered and speared him and took him down.
The fan speared Rollins to the ground before the WWE staff and referees came to take control of the situation. The fan was immediately taken off from the arena and was handed to the NYPD.
After the attack, WWE released the statement saying:
“WWE takes the safety of its performers very seriously. The individual who attacked Seth Rollins has been turned over to the NYPD and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
The fan was identified as Elisah Spencer, 24.
“Elisah Spencer, 24, was charged with attempted assault and attempted violation of arts and cultural affairs (disrupting live sporting event) for his attack on WWE wrestler Seth Rollins during the Raw television show Monday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn”, as per the NYPD.
