Son of WWE Chairman Shane McMahon has been let go by WWE
According to Ringside News, Shane McMahon, the son of WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon, has been “let go” from WWE and is no longer in the plans for the upcoming pay-per-view of Elimination Chamber, WrestleMania 38 or forthcoming episodes of WWE television.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer has also confirmed that McMahon is out of WWE and is no longer booked for future shows.
Meltzer said that it’s unknown whether his talent deal is terminated or if the plans for him for the next two months were simply dropped. After nearly a year away from in-ring action, McMahon returned at the Royal Rumble at number 28 and was eliminated by Brock Lesnar.
Shane O’Mac was previously away from WWE from 2010-16 and then returned during the build to WrestleMania 32.
It has been reported by Ringside News that there is a lot of heat on Shane after his role as a lead writer and producer of the Men’s Royal Rumble match. It has also been said that this was “the talk of WWE today.”
A creative team member opened about Shane who tried to “openly bury Jamie Noble” and tried to book the Rumble around himself.” Not only that, McMahon was convincing, and he put himself over other wrestlers and was even fighting with people to do so.
Mat Men’s Andrew Zarian tweeted that there were also “numerous changes” for what number Bad Bunny would be in the Rumble, and how the rapper was handled was one of the concerns.
“This was a cause for concern, and people within WWE were upset. However, WWE doesn’t want to come off negatively with such a major outside star,”
